Dodecanese flotilla holidays from Kos
Sailing adventures in an area full of history and culture, with fresh winds, open waters and islands from cosmopolitan Kos to little-known gems.
If you’re looking for more sailing and open waters, the Dodecanese island group is a fantastic destination. It combines some of the better known and more cosmopolitan Greek islands, such as Kos with its noted ancient sites and great beaches, with smaller and lesser-known gems such as Nisyros, Halki and Tilos, so it is an irresistible proposition for more experienced sailors.
You can be virtually assured of fresh winds, so you will be doing plenty of sailing, with more than enough to keep you occupied ashore in between. Join us in Kos and choose our northern itinerary featuring Kalymnos and Patmos, or alternatively our southern route, visiting Symi, Tilos and Nisyros before returning to Kos.
Flotilla itineraries
The Dodecanese flotilla runs two routes: odd weeks sail the Symi route, while even weeks sail the Kalymnos route. Full details of both are below, and you can also combine them into an epic two-week holiday.

You’ll fall in love with the epic views, wonderful seafood and beautiful villages of these islands: distinct from other parts of Greece, yet unmistakably Greek.
This area is blessed with warm sunshine over 300 days a year. Temperatures from early May range from the low to mid 20s early and late in the season, up to the high 30s between June and September. Meanwhile, sailing conditions are variable, from moderate to fresh at force 3 to 6+, especially during the meltemi season from late July to late August, so we generally recommend this area for more experienced sailors.

Because we are an independent company, we keep our prices highly competitive: if you see a like-for-like product cheaper elsewhere, let us know and we will beat it.
Specifically, the guarantee applies to yacht and accommodation rates on our Beach Club, Flotilla, Learn to Sail and Cabin Charter programmes operated by Seafarer, and is subject to availability at the time of booking.

Not included: mooring charges (except at the flotilla base), extra fuel or water, food and drinks, and personal items such as laundry. For sail and stay holidays, transfers from the yacht base to your accommodation are usually excluded and payable locally, unless you book a flight-inclusive package.
These yachts are usually skippered by guests who hold the right qualifications, but we can also provide a skipper if you have no previous sailing experience. You still get all the benefits of sailing as part of a flotilla: meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organised activities for children, and all the usual pleasures of yachting, from exploring and swimming in secluded bays to the simple joy of travelling under sail.
Your lead crew run the flotilla, brief you each day and know the area well.
Robyn builds on her experience of the last two seasons in the Dodecanese and brings back her wealth of local knowledge in her new role as flotilla skipper. She will be fresh from her season in Thailand, so she will be happy to chat about our flotilla there if you are looking for some winter sailing.
We are delighted that Aspa returns to us for her fourth season in 2026. She has previously worked on our Ionian, Saronic, Sporades and Split flotillas, so she has a wealth of local knowledge to share. As a native Greek, she also understands the history and culture of this beautiful country, and she can’t wait to explore a new area and bring the best of the southern Aegean to your flotilla holiday.

Travel
There are plenty of ways to reach our base in Kos town, whether you’re joining us for a week or combining the flotilla with a longer trip. We’re in Kos Marina, on the east side of the town, so it’s easy to reach by public or private transport. Seafarer flotillas in the Dodecanese run Saturday to Saturday: yachts are usually ready to board from around 16:00 on the first day, and you then disembark at around 09:00 at the end of the flotilla.
At a glance
Direct Saturday flights to Kos International Airport from London (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted), Glasgow, Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester. There are also flights from the UK and other European destinations through the week.
Direct Seafarer transfers from Kos airport to the marina take roughly 30 minutes. In addition, a city bus within Kos town stops at the marina and other important sites, while regular island buses run from the bus station in the centre of Kos town, a 20-minute walk from the marina.
Regular ferries run from Kos port (a 20-minute walk from the marina) to Rhodes, Bodrum in Turkey, Samos and many of the smaller islands nearby. Overnight ferries also run to Athens, stopping at various islands in the Cyclades.
On Kefalos Bay, in the south-west of Kos, Kefalos Beach Club offers world-class windsurfing as well as dinghy sailing, kayaking and SUP. The watersports are run by the excellent team at Kefalos Windsurfing, and there is a choice of accommodation, from basic studio apartments right on the beach to a number of more luxurious options.
Prices start at £435pp for a week, including accommodation and full use of the amazing selection of equipment.
This family-run hotel is in a quieter part of Kefalos beach, with pleasantly furnished rooms, a seaside garden and a swimming pool with a sun terrace. Its main advantage is its great location, directly on the magnificent sandy beach of Kefalos, with a panoramic view of the islet of Kastri and the Basilica of St Stefanos, which completes the magical scenery.
There are several tavernas and a mini market nearby, while Kefalos Windsurfing Centre is just a short 300m stroll along the beach. The comfortable rooms include garden-view twins and doubles, each with an en-suite bathroom, a balcony and air conditioning, and side-sea-view and full-sea-view rooms are available at a modest supplement. Other room amenities include a TV and, of course, free wifi.
