If you were going to design a Greek holiday island from scratch it would almost certainly end up looking like Skiathos. At one end you'll find the main town harbour full of bobbing boats, waterfront restaurants, shops and villas. At the other end are the sands of Koukounaria - beaches so extravagant in their beauty they're almost mythical. In between you'll discover pine clad hills, hidden coves, out of the way tavernas. The word 'idyllic' doesn't do it justice.
