Greece Sailing Holiday- Poros

Winner of our BEST FLOTILLA award two years running this flotilla boasts a superb fleet of yachts, consistant winds and a perfect starting and finishing point away from busy shipping lanes and in the middle of a wonderful and varied sailing area.

The narrow waterway between Poros and the mainland makes a great natural harbour for our flotilla home base, complete with waterfront tavernas and bars. From here our first week normally takes us north via Epidavros, with its fabulous amphitheatre, to visit the floating fruit and veg boats in the pistachio and pottery port of Aegina town. En route we drop anchor at sleepy Perdika, Korfos and Vathi.

Week two finds us south of Poros in the mythical and sheltered waters of the ArgolicGulf, visiting Ermioni, typically Greek and reputed to be the site of the first regatta in history, then Hydra, rich in local art where cars are banned and donkeys rule the road. We slow things right down for the final few days sailing around the delightful fishing ports of Plaka and Astros. Moving on we anchor in a secluded bay for our beach party. For free sailing, try Baltiza creek to visit Spetses in a horse-drawn carriage, Then back to Poros our charming base port for our farewell eveing.
